Day-To-Day | Schooling | Ministries | Schedule

Day-To-Day
A typical day at GZMC starts at the church at 9am.  From 9-10am, you will be in prayer, devotion, and worship.  The rest of the morning will be spent in academics.  After lunch you will have the opportunity to be involved in hands-on ministry; depending on the day you will either be doing ministry practicums (web design, office administration, graphic design, creating dramas, etc.) or be involved in evening ministries (youth ministry, soup kitchens, youth centers, etc.). In the evenings, you will be a part of our Youth services or working at a local outreach.  The GZMC day is intense and very full.  This is why no outside employment is allowed.  The days are long and full, but the rewards of seeing God work are many.

Schooling
Chesapeake Bible College & Seminary: During acadamics, you will be working towards earning a Diploma of Biblical Studies. Students earn a total of 36 college credits. If a student comes back for a second or third year, they will be able to earn an Associates degree or Bachelors degree respectively. Students will be earning college credits that transfer to most colleges. To find out if CBCS credits transfer to your college of interest, you will have to call them and find out. Colleges don’t have to accept credits from other schools, so its best to find out there policy on transferring credits. If you have already earned college credits, you can have your transcripts sent to us. We can apply them to your Diploma of Biblical Studies.

Schedule
GZMC starts on Saturday, September 11th 2010 and ends Sunday, May 22nd 2011.

Ministries
GZMC offers many ministries that you can be a part of.

United
Every Thursday night from 6:30-9:30 over 150 students meet at the Christian Life Center for United. The night includes games, food, and fellowship, but it is focused on a relevant message challenging students to grow closer to God. Masters Commission students have the opportunity to involved first-hand in running United on a weekly basis as well as special events; everything from set up each week to build relationships with the students and even be a part of the planning and administration. Students in the Youth Ministry Institute will have an even stronger role in this ministry and will even give at least one message at a United Service. www.unitedym.com

Ground Zero Union
We also run another night of youth ministry called Ground Zero Union at another church about 20 miles away. Ground Zero Union is open to everyone in 6th-12th grade. Through Ground Zero Union we are able to reach students from a completely different school district. Every week about 50 students come out to have fun and grow closer to God. Masters Commission Students will have the opportunity to be involved in Ground Zero Union in much the same way as they are United. www.gzyouth.com

Project R.A.K.E.
Project R.A.K.E. is the home repair ministry of United and Ground Zero Union. The youth ministry students are given the chance several times throughout the year to show God’s love in real and tangible ways to low income families and senior citizens in the community. www.projectrake.com

Kid Zone
Masters Commission students will also have the opportunity to work within our children's ministry every week. Students help on Sunday mornings with registration and check in, children’s worship, teaching Sunday School, and much more. Children’s Ministry Institute students will also have a hand in the planning and leading of the children’s ministry.

Youth Rallies
Throughout the Fall and Spring semesters, you will be traveling to churches along the East Coast, doing youth rallies and ministering to students. You will be doing stomp, drama, human videos, sharing your testimony, and ministering to this generation.

Youth Conventions
We have been blessed to be involved in many youth conventions every year where we will have the opportunity to minister to thousands of teens. At these conventions we are usually involved in everything from setup and tear down to security to assisting the AV team, to running seminars and workshops and much more. This is a great opportunity for you as a Masters Commission student to learn about how to lead large youth events, how to build relationships, how to work as a team, and many more invaluable skills.

Tech
Along with the rest of the world, ministry is becoming ever-more technologically advanced. Our ministries include several websites, multiple networks, VPNs, a bunch of computers, printers, phone systems, etc. All of this needs to be kept up-to-date, and fixed when anything goes wrong. If you are tech savvy (even if you don’t have much experience) you will have the opportunity to work on the tech side of the ministry and learn networking, web design, and more.

Parkesburg Point and Lighthouse Youth Centers
The Parkesburg Point is a Christian youth center on main street in Parkesburg, PA, focused on instilling Christian values in the teens of the community. Lighthouse Youth Center is a Christian youth center located on main street in Oxford, PA, focused on providing a safe environment where teens can hang out and experience the love of God. Each week, several Masters Commission students spend an evening at The Point and Lighthouse, helping students with homework, playing games or sports, serving food, and building relationships with the teens through which they can pour into the their lives.

AV Team
Each week at our youth ministry, there is a team of people that runs our audio visual equipment (sound, video, cameras, and lights). Masters Commission students who are interested will have the opportunity to be a part of this ministry on a weekly basis in addition to the AV equipment we use when traveling. Masters Commission students serving with the AV team will have the opportunity to learn on and run state of the art AV equipment.

International Missions
Every Masters Commission student will go on at least one overseas mission trip each year. These trips focus on serving the people of the country we are visiting through the spreading of the gospel. Our trips are very evangelistic and our primary goal is spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. We typically do this through door-to-door evangelism, park outreaches, church services, street revival services, children’s programs and more. In addition we sometimes do humanitarian work such as handing our food, building schools, etc. Second and third year Masters Commission students will have the opportunity to be a part of the planning and leading of this trip and will also travel on an additional trip. Third year students will also spend a month in a foreign country as a way of experience what it truly means to be a missionary.
